University of South Alabama rolling admission questions

I'm interested in the University of South Alabama and noticed they have a rolling admission policy. Does anyone have experience with this? How long did it take to hear back and is applying earlier better?

You're correct, the University of South Alabama does follow a rolling admissions policy. This essentially means that they review applications as they receive them, on a "first-come, first-served" basis, rather than waiting until a specific deadline to begin reviewing all applications at once.

The timeline for hearing back can vary widely, depending on when you submit your application. Some students might hear back as quickly as a few weeks after submitting, while others might wait several months. This is because the admissions committee begins reviewing applications almost as soon as they start coming in, and continues doing so until their incoming freshman class is full.

As for whether applying earlier is better, it generally is. The earlier you apply, the more spots are available in the incoming class, which could potentially increase your chances of admission. Another benefit of applying earlier is that you might hear back sooner, which can provide peace of mind and give you more time to plan.

Do keep in mind that, even though the University of South Alabama uses rolling admissions, they do still have a priority deadline (usually sometime in December). Meeting this priority deadline ensures that your application will be considered for scholarships.

It's great that you're looking into the timeline for your application! Being aware of how the admissions committee operates can indeed give you a leg up. Good luck with your application!
