Setting up a college process bullet journal

Has anyone tried organizing their college process with a bullet journal? I'm thinking about starting one to keep track of deadlines and tasks. How did it work for you, and do you have any spreads or tips to share?

Using a bullet journal for your college application process can prove to be an incredibly beneficial tool – help you stay organized, keep track of deadlines, and manage tasks. While I don't have personal anecdotes to share, I do have some tips that could be of help based on what others might have found useful.

First off, you'll want to create a timeline for your application process. It may be useful to incorporate a yearly/monthly layout spread so you can see where your deadlines fall. This should include regular decision and early decision deadlines, scholarship application deadlines, standardized test dates (if applicable), and time slots for college visits or interviews.

Next, you can make separate spreads for each college you're applying to. In each spread, list out the specific requirements for each school, such as GPA or test score requirements (if any), essay prompts, or any unique application components. This way, you have all the relevant information in one place.

In addition, you could use a task-oriented weekly spread or daily logs to organize smaller tasks like requesting recommendation letters or polishing essays. Keep track of ongoing tasks as well as tasks you’ve already completed to celebrate your progress.

It might also be helpful to have a section where you keep track of key contacts, such as admissions officers or possible recommenders.

Finally, consider setting up a reflections section where you jot down reasons for why a college is a good fit, your impressions after a college visit or interview, etc. This will come in handy when writing college essays or analyzing your acceptance options.

Remember, the real power of a bullet journal is that it can be entirely customized to your needs. Start with these ideas and adjust or expand as you see fit. Good luck with your organization and application process!
