Are there trade jobs that don't require a certificate?

I'm looking into trade job options for after high school, and I'm curious if there are any that don't require certification. I'm eager to start working soon and was hoping to skip any long certification processes.

Absolutely, there are trade jobs out there that don't require upfront certification. But keep it in mind, while certification may not be necessary to begin certain jobs, acquiring relevant skills through on-the-job training, apprenticeships, or vocational programs can still be very valuable and might even lead to better job opportunities in the future. Here are just a few examples of such jobs that you might be interested in considering:

1. Construction Worker: Many construction jobs have no certification requirements and offer on-the-job training instead. You'll learn physical labor skills such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical work and more.

2. Retail Salesperson: While not a traditional "trade" job, it is a hands-on job where you're learning to merchandise, sell, and provide customer service.

3. Painting and drywall work: These also typically require no certification. You can often learn these skills on-the-job or through an informal apprenticeship.

4. Landscaping and Groundskeeping: These roles also require no formal training or certification. You typically learn while doing the job, acquiring skills in maintaining lawns, gardens, landscaping elements and sometimes even trees and bush trimming.

Remember, these are just a few examples. It's always helpful to reach out to professionals in your area of interest to get a sense of what's required before you decide on your next steps.
