Skilled trades in demand in Michigan?

I live in Michigan and I'm thinking about going into a skilled trade. Which fields are in highest demand here? I want to make sure I choose a path that's needed.

Michigan is known for its vibrant industries and diverse job opportunities in various skilled trade fields. One of the most in-demand fields is the electrical trade. As houses, offices, and factories become more digital, the demand for skilled electricians continues to grow. Plus, electricians are essential in construction projects, which are quite prevalent in Michigan.

The healthcare sector is another good bet. Medical technicians, phlebotomists, and dental hygienists are consistently in demand due to the persistent need for healthcare services.

The automotive industry, being home to Detroit – the automotive capital of the world, also offers numerous opportunities for skilled trades. Auto mechanics, body repair technicians, and manufacturing technicians are highly sought after in this region.

Plumbing is also an area of constant need. This specialty is vital for residential, commercial, and industrial sectors alike. It's also an excellent trade to consider because of the higher-than-average compensation and sizable demand in Michigan.

HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) technicians are another group of skilled professionals in demand. Their skills are necessary for both residential and commercial buildings, and job growth is expected to remain strong due to the need for HVAC systems maintenance and upgrade.

Each of these trades offer diverse opportunities and robust job security, and the choice depends on your personal interests and aptitude. It's also a good idea to research local vocational training programs to see which trades they specialize in training for, as that might give further insight into regional demands.
