If you've submitted your application and later come to realize there is an error, don't worry. There are a few steps you can generally follow to correct this.

1. Identifying the error: Make sure you identify what the error is and how you wish to correct it.

2. As soon as you discover the error, you should directly contact the admissions office of the specific college. It's generally best to do this via email so there's a written record of your request.

3. In the communication, be clear about what the mistake is and provide the corrected information. You might also want to explain how the error occurred, to provide context.

4. If your application portal (such as Common App or Coalition) allows you to send updates, you could utilize this feature to clarify the error and send the correction. Keep in mind this is useful only if the particular college has not downloaded your application yet.

5. After you have sent the email or made an update via the application portal, consider following up with a phone call to discuss the correction with the admissions office. This is a good step to take if you have not heard anything back after a few days.

6. Be patient, it may take time for the admissions office to make the corrections. Continue to monitor your application status, and reach back out if the correction hasn't been acknowledged or made within a reasonable amount of time.

Remember, mistakes happen, and colleges understand this. Don't panic, and just ensure that you take the necessary steps in a timely manner to address it!

Please note, it is possible to edit a submitted application if your supposed college hasn’t yet downloaded your application. However, this is often not the case, as schools tend to download applications fairly quickly after submission.
