The application process for Ivy Tech Community College has a few key steps.

Step 1: Submitting your application online via the college's website, which is straightforward and free. During this step, you'll need your social security number, your high school grades or GED scores, and information on any previous college coursework (if applicable).

Step 2: After submitting your application, it's recommended to submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible, in order to determine what financial aid packages you may qualify for. The FAFSA opens every year on October 1st and should ideally be completed by Ivy Tech's priority date of April 15th, to maximize your financial aid opportunities.

Step 3: Once your application is submitted and your FAFSA is on its way, schedule your ACCUPLACER assessment. This assessment will help determine what classes you'll start with when you begin classes at Ivy Tech. There are study resources available on the Ivy Tech website to help you prepare for this exam. If your high school GPA or SAT/ACT scores meet certain criteria, you may qualify for an ACCUPLACER waiver.

Step 4: After your ACCUPLACER assessment, you'll attend a New Student Orientation session. During this session, you’ll learn about the various resources available at Ivy Tech, and also meet with an advisor to register for your classes.

Ivy Tech operates on a rolling admission basis, meaning they accept applications throughout the year. However, for best course selection, it's recommended to apply at least a month prior to the term start date. Ivy Tech has fall, spring, and summer terms, and each term has multiple start dates.

Good luck with your application! Ivy Tech's process is meant to be accessible and supportive, so don't hesitate to reach out to their admissions office if you have any questions.
