Do colleges check SAT scores for transfer students?

If I'm planning to transfer colleges, will they look at my high school SAT scores, or is my college GPA more important? Trying to figure out what they'll consider in my application.

The eligibility criteria for transfer students vary widely depending on the institution. While all colleges heavily consider your college GPA, many do not require standardized test scores like the SAT from transfer students, especially if they have completed a certain amount of college coursework (often around 30 credits). However, some colleges may request them, especially if you've completed less than a year of college.

For example, schools like Stanford University, University of Southern California (USC), and Johns Hopkins, to name a few, recommend (but do not require) that students who have completed less than one year of college submit their SAT scores. On the other hand, schools like Columbia University and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC Chapel Hill) do not require or consider SAT/ACT scores from any transfer applicants.

Also, keep in mind that it's important to not only have a solid GPA, but also show involvement in extracurricular activities and have strong recommendation letters. Be sure to understand what's required and valued by each school you're considering. And remember, each part of your application tells a story about you, so aim to present your best in each one.
