Which activities should I list on my transfer application?

I'm working on my college transfer application and want to make sure I include relevant activities. How do I choose which ones to list? Are some types of activities more advantageous than others?

However, if you've participated in general involvement activities that are connected to your intended field of study or career, these could also be very valuable.

Being a transfer applicant, you may have work, internship, or studies-related activities. These are great to include as they demonstrate your real-world experience and skills. Also, consider your involvement in community service, as it signifies empathy, citizenship, and responsibility.

Lastly, however, you decide, ensure that your activities tell a coherent story about your interests, abilities, dedication, and future goals. Admissions committees want to see dedication and growth through involvement over time. Avoid falling into the trap of quantity over quality - a commitment to a few activities with deep levels of involvement often outshines a laundry list of slightly touched-upon ventures. Quality of experience matters more than quantity.

For example, if you've embarked upon an independent research project in your area of interest, working on a long-term project or initiative, or have gained a promotion or recognition within a part-time job, these are all indicative of your dedication and ability to produce meaningful results. Likewise, leadership roles within clubs related to your field of study can highlight commitment and provide insight into your ambitions and skills.
