Transfer to ASU from Another College

I'm thinking about transferring to ASU and wanted to know about their application process for college transfers. Are there specific transfer student requirements I should be aware of?

Arizona State University (ASU) has a fairly straightforward transfer process. First thing to note is that their application deadlines vary depending on which of their five terms you plan to start studying. These terms are Fall A and B, Spring A and B, and Summer. Dates can be found on their website.

To apply as a transfer student, you would need to complete the undergraduate application for admission online. Along with the application, you'll have to pay a non-refundable fee. If you're a resident of Arizona the fee is $50, for non-residents it's $80.

In terms of academic requirements, ASU generally expects transfer students to have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA in all transferable courses, though some programs may have higher GPA requirements.

ASU requires that you have completed at least one transferable course from each of the following categories: English, math, lab science, and social-behavioral science. They call these the AGEC-A (Arizona General Education Curriculum).

When it comes to credit transfer, most coursework from regionally accredited colleges and universities will transfer to ASU, but the applicability of the credit toward your degree program depends on the requirements of your program of study.

Remember that deadlines for financial aid, scholarships, and housing are all separate from the admissions application, so it's key to take those into consideration as you're planning your transfer.

After your application has been processed, you will receive an email notification to check your admission status. You can do so through the My ASU page.

Overall, making a transfer application to ASU involves careful planning to meet all their requirements. I recommend reaching out directly to their admissions office if you encounter any difficulties during the application process. Their staff can provide more personalized advice based on your specific circumstances.
