Anyone have experience with transferring credits from Baltimore City Community College?

I'm planning to get my associate degree at Baltimore City Community College and then transfer to a four-year school. Does anyone know which universities accept the most credits from BCCC?

One of the best ways to determine how credits will transfer from Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) to a four-year institution is by checking with the specific institution that you're interested in transferring to. Most universities have a transfer credit policy that outlines what types of credits they accept and some have an online transfer credit tool that allows you to see how your credits from BCCC may transfer over.

Universities that are in the same state as your community college, like University of Maryland, Baltimore County or Towson University, typically have well-established transfer agreements or pathways in place with local community colleges. You might want to check if such arrangements exist between BCCC and the four-year colleges you're interested in.

Before you finalize your courses at BCCC, it might be beneficial to meet with an academic advisor or transfer representative at the four-year schools you're interested in to review your course selections. They can provide you with some guidance about which courses to take at BCCC in order to maximize your transferable credits.

However, always keep in mind that the final decision on credit transfer is at the discretion of the receiving institution, and the acceptance of a course for credit does not necessarily mean it will fulfill a major or degree requirement. Retain syllabi and course descriptions from your classes at BCCC to ease the transition and aid the new institution in their evaluation. Good luck with your educational journey!
