How does the credit transfer process work at Benedictine College?

I'm thinking about transferring to Benedictine College and want to understand how their credit transfer process works. Do they accept a lot of credits from other schools, or is it pretty limited?

At many colleges, transfer students often worry about whether their credits will transfer along with their admission. As far as Benedictine College specifically, their process for determining the applicability and transferability of credit from other institutions involves a thorough evaluation by the college's Office of the Registrar.

Generally, Benedictine College seems to be reasonably accommodating in terms of accepting credits from other accredited institutions. They accept credits from courses where you earned a grade of C- or better and the content aligns with the course offerings at Benedictine. It's not a universal rule, though. The acceptance of credit largely depends on the nature of the credits in question and whether they align with Benedictine's curriculum.

You'll also have to keep in mind that even if a course is accepted for credit, it doesn't automatically mean it will apply to your chosen major. You might need to check on a course-by-course basis if you're aiming for a very specific academic track.

Importantly, remember to submit your official transcript from each college or university you've attended as part of the application process. Upon receipt, the Office of the Registrar will conduct their assessment.

Lastly, in case you want to be sure about the credits that will transfer, you can also consider reaching out directly to Benedictine's admission office or assigned transfer admissions counselor. They'll be more familiar with the specifics and should be able to walk you through the process, or even give you a preliminary evaluation of how many of your already-earned credits might count towards your program of interest.
