Does anyone know which universities have transfer agreements with Berkeley City College? I'm trying to plan my academic path and want to know my options for seamless transfer after completing my associate degree.
Berkeley City College (BCC) has transfer agreements with a variety of universities in California through a program known as Associate Degrees for Transfer (ADT). The ADT program guarantees BCC students admission to a participating California State University (CSU) campus. However, it does not guarantee admission to the specific campus or program of choice.
The participating CSU campuses include but are not limited to:
- CSU East Bay
- San Francisco State University
- San Jose State University
- Sacramento State University
- Cal State LA
Besides CSU, BCC also has a Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) program with several University of California (UC) campuses. The UC TAG Program guarantees admission to one of six UC campuses if you meet specific requirements. The six participating UC campuses include UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Merced, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, and UC Santa Cruz.
Unfortunately, UC Berkeley and UCLA do not participate in the TAG program, but many BCC students do transfer to these and other highly competitive universities without the TAG program.
Outside of the CSU and UC systems, many BCC students also continue their studies at private colleges and universities within and beyond California, though these don't fall under a guaranteed admission agreement.
Remember, each university and program will have specific admission requirements, so it's crucial to work closely with your academic advisor to ensure you are taking the right courses and meeting all necessary prerequisites.
