How do I apply to American River Community College?

I'm looking into community colleges and American River caught my eye. Can anyone explain the application process? Also, is there an application fee I should be aware of?

Sure, the application process for American River Community College follows a pretty straightforward process!

Step 1: Complete the Application: You can do this online via the Los Rios Community College District's website. You'll need to create an account with Los Rios first before you are able to submit the application.

Step 2: Create your eServices Account: Approximately 24 hours after you submit your application, you'll receive an email with your student ID and instructions on how to set up your account. You'll use eServices to register for classes, pay fees, and manage your student records.

Step 3: Complete the Online Orientation: This is a mandatory step that helps you understand the resources available at American River College, degree and certificate offerings, class registration, and other critical information.

Step 4: Complete Assessment for Math and English: Depending on your educational background, you may need to complete Math and English assessments so that you can be placed in the appropriate classes.

Step 5: Develop an Education Plan: After your assessments, you should meet with a counselor to develop an education plan. This will outline the courses needed to reach your academic goals.

Step 6: Register for Classes: Once you've completed the orientation and met with a counselor, you should be ready to register for classes via eServices according to your registration date.

As for the application fee, American River College, like many community colleges, does not charge one, so you can apply free of charge. However, keep in mind there will be tuition and other fees once you are enrolled in courses. I strongly recommend checking out their website for detailed information. Good luck with your application process!
