What are the transfer credit policies for Bowling Green State University?

I'm planning on transferring from Sinclair Community College to BGSU. Does anyone know what their transfer credit policies are like? I'm hoping to understand how many of my credits will be accepted.

Bowling Green State University (BGSU) has established transfer equivalencies with many colleges and universities, including Sinclair Community College, which can aid in your transition process.

Generally, BGSU accepts coursework with a "D-" grade or higher from other regionally accredited colleges and universities, but whether they'll count towards specific degree requirements depends on your major. To fulfill core or major requirements, some departments may require higher grades, such as a "C" or better.

However, grades do not transfer to BGSU. Your GPA at BGSU will be calculated based on coursework completed at the university.

While there isn't a specific maximum, BGSU generally accepts up to 60 semester credits (or equivalent) from a community college, out of the typical 120 credits needed for most bachelor's degrees.

You should also review BGSU’s transfer policies page on their website to check for updates on transfer credits. In addition, you might want to contact a transfer advisor at Sinclair Community College and an advisor at BGSU. They should be able to give you detailed information on how your exact course credits may transfer.
