Advice for submitting the SLCC application?

I'm a high school junior looking to apply to SLCC Community College next year. Does anyone have any advice on how to fill out the application? Are there any common mistakes I should avoid?

When applying to Salt Lake Community College (SLCC), first, make sure you have all the necessary information at hand before you begin. This includes your social security number (if you have one), your high school and prior college (if applicable) information such as dates of attendance and graduation, and your standardized test scores if you have any. Remember to use your legal name, exactly as it appears on your identification, to avoid any complications when SLCC tries to match your supporting documents to your application.

On the application, you'll be asked to choose an 'area of study'. Don't fret too much about what you choose here; this isn't a binding decision and you can change your area of study later. Also, familiarize yourself with their open enrollment policy. Unlike some other colleges, SLCC has a policy that any high school graduate, or any individual who has successfully obtained a GED, can enroll.

In terms of common mistakes, avoid rushing through the application and leaving sections incomplete. It's always a good idea to double-check all inputs for typos and inaccuracies, especially your contact information. You don’t want an oversight to delay your application process!

Lastly, remember to submit all required documents after the application, like your high school transcript or any college transcripts if you’ve taken courses elsewhere. Be aware of any deadlines to submit these documents. It’s a good idea to send them shortly after you submit your application.

Good luck with your application! Remember, every application is a learning process, so go easy on yourself and do the best you can.
