Transfer Admissions Requirements for Buffalo State College

Does anyone know what the requirements are for transfer students applying to Buffalo State College? I'm really interested in making the move, and I need to know what I'll need to be eligible. Any advice would be super helpful!

To transfer to Buffalo State College, you need to fulfil certain requirements:

1. You must have completed a semester at an accredited college or university post high school graduation. Buffalo State does not accept transfer students directly out of high school.

2. College GPA: Generally, a cumulative GPA of 2.0 for all college-level course work is necessary. This can change depending on the major you're applying into. Some programs may require a higher GPA.

3. Good Academic Standing: You should be in good academic standing at the last college you attended.

In addition to the above requirements, you'll also need to submit:

1. The SUNY Application or the Common Application.

2. Official college transcript(s) from all colleges you have attended.

3. $50 non-refundable application fee is required with the SUNY Application. The Common Application has a $75 fee. Fee waivers are available for eligible students.

Additionally, if you've completed less than a year of college coursework after high school graduation, you'll generally need to submit your official high school transcript or GED/TASC scores. The ACT/SAT requirement is waived for students who have been out of high school for more than two years.

Keep in mind that admission requirements can vary by major, so it is always a good idea to reach out directly to Buffalo State's transfer office or check their official website to get the most accurate and current information.

Remember, beyond just the minimum eligibility requirements, colleges are looking for students who will thrive. That starts with strong academics, but also includes personal qualities, relevant experiences, and your personal narrative as expressed in your application essays. Start planning now, and good luck with your aspirations!
