How does a degree from Penn Foster transfer to other colleges?

I've completed my studies at Penn Foster and am looking to continue my education. Are there any colleges that are known to accept degrees from Penn Foster for transfer students?

Penn Foster conducts accredited online learning programs, which means the credits you earned have met a level of industry-accepted standards. However, the acceptance of credits earned at Penn Foster, like any institution, is always at the discretion of the receiving school.

Many educational institutions have their specific policies regarding the transfer of credits from other institutions. It's always best to directly contact the admissions department of the institution you're interested in to inquire about their transfer policies. When doing so, it might be helpful to have a copy of your transcript, as well as syllabi or course descriptions for the classes you took at Penn Foster.

In some cases, if an agreement between schools is in place (known as an articulation agreement), the transfer could be smooth. But it does depend on the individual policies of the school to which you wish to transfer.

Remember, it's not just about whether credits transfer, but also about how they apply to your new degree program requirements. Some credits may transfer as elective credits rather than counting towards your core degree requirements, depending on how closely the Penn Foster courses align with the curriculum at the new institution.

As a general rule, doing research ahead of time and having open communication with potential colleges can greatly help your transfer process.
