Does a 3 in AP Bio transfer to community college?

Got a 3 on my AP Bio exam and I'm considering community college. Will this score earn me any credit or is it usually not enough? Any insight into how community colleges typically handle AP scores would be great!

Community colleges often have different policies than four-year colleges when it comes to accepting AP scores for college credit. While a score of 3 is generally considered "passing" on an AP exam, it's not guaranteed that all institutions will accept it for credit, including community colleges.

For many four-year colleges, at least a 4 is required to receive credit, but community colleges often have more lenient policies and some may accept a 3. However, this can vary significantly from one institution to another.

If you're considering a specific community college, I would recommend reaching out to their admissions or registrar's office to inquire about their policies regarding AP scores. Explain your situation about your AP Bio score and they should be able to provide you with a clear answer.

Additionally, some colleges and universities, regardless of whether they're a community college or not, may only give you elective credit for a lower AP score, instead of allowing it to count towards a specific class in your major. Overall, your best course of action is to directly contact any school you're considering to clarify their policies.
