Does community college GPA transfer to SJSU?

I want to transfer to San Jose State University from a community college, and I'm curious if my community college GPA will carry over or impact my SJSU admission.

Yes, your community college GPA does have a significant influence on your transfer admission to San Jose State University (SJSU). When SJSU assesses your transfer application, they primarily consider your college GPA to evaluate your academic readiness for the courses offered at the university.

However, it's important to note that once you transfer, your GPA doesn't technically "carry over." In other words, the grades you earn at SJSU will be calculated separately from your community college grades once you start your coursework there.

So, your community college GPA matters a lot when it comes to the admission process, but it won't blend with or impact your SJSU GPA once you start taking classes at SJSU.
