Are there guaranteed transfer options at Citrus College?

I've heard that some colleges have transfer guarantees with certain universities. Can anyone share if Citrus College has any agreements like this, especially for California universities? How does it work?

Citrus College, like many community colleges in California, participates in the transfer programs offered by both the University of California (UC) and California State University (CSU) systems, which can provide students with a guaranteed path to these 4-year institutions if certain criteria are met.

For the CSU system, there's the Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) program. Students who earn an AA-T or AS-T degree at Citrus College are guaranteed admission to a CSU, though not necessarily to their first-choice campus or major.

As for the UC system, Citrus College is a participant in the Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) program with six UC campuses: UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Merced, UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, and UC Santa Cruz. To qualify for TAG, students usually have to maintain a certain GPA and fulfill specific course requirements, which can vary by campus and major.

Also important to note is the UC Transfer Admission Planner (TAP) which is an online tool to help prospective UC transfer students track and plan their coursework. As part of TAP, students can also submit for an eligibility review, TAG application, and receive TAP-related updates and communications from UC campuses of interest.

However, these agreements often require specific academic achievements and possibly deadlines that are earlier than the regular application. It's best to speak with the counseling office at Citrus College early on to make sure you can plan your coursework and meet any requirements necessary to take advantage of these transfer options.
