Transferring an associate's degree from Fayetteville Technical Community College

I'm about to complete my associate's degree at FTCC and considering transferring. Has anyone done this, and how many of their credits successfully transferred to a four-year university?

Transferring from a community college like FTCC can be a great pathway to four-year colleges, and it's excellent that you're looking ahead to this next step. The exact number of credits that will successfully transfer can vary depending on the university you're considering, as each has its own policy towards transfer credits.

Universities typically have a transfer credit evaluator tool or a course equivalency chart that would allow you to see how your FTCC credits would be applied at their institution. Keep in mind, credits that are more specific to your intended major at the 4-year university are more likely to transfer as specific course credits, while others may transfer as elective credits.

Also, many institutions have articulation agreements with community colleges. These agreements specify that a certain number of courses or credits will be accepted from the community college. If FTCC has such an agreement with the 4-year institution you are considering, that could be a strong factor in how many of your credits transfer.

You should get in touch with both your academic advisor at FTCC and the admissions department of the four-year university you're considering. They can provide the most accurate information about transferring credits. Best of luck with this step in your academic journey!
