Hey, I'm looking into transferring to UCLA from a community college. I'm curious if there's a limit on the number of units I can transfer over. Does anyone know about this process?
UCLA limits the number of units that can be transferred from a community college to 70 semester units (or 105 quarter units). So, if you were to take more classes at a community college, all of your units would show up on UCLA's transcript, but only the first 70 semester units (or 105 quarter units) towards the 180 units required for graduation would be transferred. Additional coursework could, however, still satisfy prerequisite and General Education (GE) requirements. Make sure you are on track and meeting all the criteria by checking with a community college counselor and UCLA's own transfer admission requirements. UCLA offers a specific Transfer Admission Guide that contains detailed information on major prerequisites and transferable coursework.
