What's the GPA to transfer to City College?

I'm looking into transferring to City College next year. Can someone tell me what GPA I need to have a good shot at getting accepted? Trying to keep my options open.

The City College of New York (CCNY)—like many colleges—does not state a specific minimum GPA requirement for transfer students. However, it's always beneficial to keep your GPA as high as possible when looking to transfer.

According to the CCNY website, emphasis during the application process is placed on college coursework, grades, and the trend of grades. For example, an upward trend in grades is viewed more favorably, as it demonstrates academic improvement over time.

According to data from students who have transferred in the past, a GPA of around 2.7 or higher may increase your chances of acceptance. However, it's important to keep in mind that every application is reviewed holistically, meaning, the admission team considers other factors as well such as your courses, personal essay, and involvement in any extracurricular activities or community service.

If you're concerned about your GPA, it may be beneficial to focus on strengthening other areas of your application like your essay and extracurricular activities, showcasing your potential and dedication as a student. Lastly, always ensure you meet all application deadlines and submit any necessary documents in a timely manner. Good luck!
