Free leadership programs for high school students?

Hey folks, I'm really keen on developing my leadership skills and participating in a program. Do you know of any amazing (and free) leadership programs catered for high school students?

Hi there! It's wonderful that you're interested in developing your leadership skills. There are several free leadership programs for high school students that you can explore:

1. Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) Program: HOBY offers various programs, including state-level seminars, that help high school students develop leadership and critical thinking skills through workshops, activities, and keynote speakers. Some HOBY programs have a nominal fee, but they offer scholarships and financial aid to those who qualify. Learn more at: http://www.hoby.org/

2. Summer Youth Leadership Conferences by The National Student Leadership Foundation (NSLF): NSLF hosts several free, weeklong summer conferences that focus on leadership, civic engagement, and community service. Conferences are held across multiple states. You can find more information at: https://nationalslf.org/

3. United States Naval Academy Summer STEM Program: This program is geared towards high school students interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. With hands-on learning, problem-solving exercises, and team-building activities, this program helps students develop leadership skills as well. The program is free (except for transportation costs), and more information can be found at: https://www.usna.edu/SummerPrograms/STEM.php

4. Bank of America's Student Leaders Program: Open to rising high school juniors and seniors, this program offers an eight-week paid internship at a local nonprofit organization and a one-week all-expense-paid Student Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C. Participants develop key leadership skills and learn about social issues affecting their communities. Visit their website for more information: https://about.bankofamerica.com/en/making-an-impact/student-leaders

Apart from these programs, you may also want to explore local opportunities offered by organizations in your area. Some community centers, libraries, or nonprofit organizations might have free leadership programs or workshops tailored for high school students. Good luck, and I hope you find a program that fits your needs!
