How Does Credit Transfer Work at McDaniel College?

I'm interested in how McDaniel College handles transfer credits. Does anyone know how they evaluate them or if there are any limits on the number of credits that can be transferred?

McDaniel College does accept transfer credits and has a fairly flexible process in place. A key point in their policy is that credits only transfer, not grades. Therefore, your GPA is reset when you start at McDaniel.

Your courses are evaluated for transfer credit on a case-by-case basis. They compare the course material, learning outcomes, and rigor of the courses you've taken to the equivalent courses at McDaniel. This is to ensure the transferred credits adequately prepare you for subsequent coursework.

As for the limit, McDaniel College allows you to transfer up to a maximum of 64 credits from a two-year institution. But from a four-year institution, you can transfer up to 90 credits. Do note, at least 30 credits, including the final 24, must be completed at McDaniel directly to earn a degree from the college.

Also, transferred courses must have been completed with a grade of C or better. The specific details of transfer credits can vary sometimes, which is why it is recommended you get in touch with the college's registrar for nuanced specifics about your credits. They can provide a pre-evaluation of your transfer credits so you can know how they will be applied to your program of study at McDaniel.
