Eligibility for Lynchburg College Transfer Scholarships

What scholarships are available for transfer students at Lynchburg College? I'm trying to figure out if I would qualify and how to apply. Any tips would be super helpful!

Lynchburg College, now known as University of Lynchburg, offers several scholarships specifically for transfer students. Here are a few:

1. Transfer Student Scholarships: These scholarships range from $13,000 to $18,000 per year, based on your college GPA. If your GPA is between 2.5-2.99, you would qualify for a $13,000 scholarship. A GPA of 3.0-3.49 qualifies for a $15,000 scholarship and a GPA of 3.5 or higher qualifies for an $18,000 scholarship.

2. Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship: If you're a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, you can apply for this scholarship which offers an additional $2,500 per year.

3. Legacy Awards: This scholarship is given to relatives (sibling, children, grandchildren, etc.) of Lynchburg alumni, and is $1000 per year.

To apply, first complete your application for admission (the university is a Common Application member). Financial aid is also available and requires completion of the FAFSA, which is used to determine eligibility for federal aid, grants, work-study, and loans. Most scholarships are renewable for up to three additional years as long as you maintain the required GPA and full-time status.

Along with these scholarships, make sure to keep an eye out for external scholarships. The Appily database can be a great resource for searching scholarships that fit your personal demographic, academically and otherwise. Remember, every little bit helps when it comes to the cost of college, so apply for as many scholarships as you can!
