Transfer Credits Between Maricopa County Community Colleges

I'm considering transferring between community colleges within Maricopa County. Does anyone know how the transfer credit process works and if all my credits will transfer over smoothly?

All colleges within the Maricopa County Community College District follow a common course numbering system, which simplifies the transfer process significantly. A course with the same number at any of these colleges is considered equivalent. In practical terms, this means that if you've taken MAT151 at Chandler-Gilbert Community College, for instance, it would transfer to MAT151 at Mesa Community College.

Bear in mind that for some specific programs or degrees, your new institution might have certain grade requirements for the transfer. So, even if a course transfers, it might not meet the program or degree requirement if your grade is not high enough. My advice would be to contact the academic advisement department of the school you're transferring to. They should be able to confirm if your credits would be accepted.

Transferring within Maricopa County Community Colleges tends to be a pretty smooth process. You won't have to go through the processes of course-by-course transfer approval or external transcript evaluation, which can often be involved when transferring between non-related institutions. However, it's always a good idea to know in advance and plan your curriculum accordingly to ensure smooth progress towards your degree or program.
