Michigan College of Engineering transfer credit grade requirement

Does anyone know the grade requirements for transfer credits to be accepted at the Michigan College of Engineering? I'm worried some of my grades might not meet the criteria, so any detailed info would be super helpful!

The University of Michigan's College of Engineering generally requires that you receive a grade of C or better in a course for it to transfer. All courses will be evaluated for transfer on a course-by-course basis. Competitive applicants to Michigan Engineering will have completed all of the required prerequisite courses, with direct equivalent credit, prior to their intended term of enrollment at U-M, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Please also be aware that the university wants students to take as many of the college-level prerequisites at the college level as possible, so taking some key courses (like Calculus or Physics) at a community college and getting grades on the lower side may not be viewed favorably, even if they do transfer.

That being said, the specific requirements might vary for certain programs or courses, so I would recommend that you reach out to an academic advisor within the College of Engineering or the university's transfer credit team to clarify, especially if you have specific courses in mind.

Lastly, it's good to keep in mind that transfer credit is only one part of a transfer application - your entire academic history, along with your essays and extracurricular involvement, will be considered when you apply.

Hope this helps!
