Where do Navarro College hours transfer to in Texas?

I'm currently attending Navarro College in Corsicana, TX, but I plan to transfer my hours elsewhere in Texas. Does anyone have info on which institutions are more likely to accept my transfer credits?

As a general rule, public colleges and universities within Texas will readily accept transfer credits from Navarro College, which is a regionally accredited institution. These could include Texas A&M University, University of Texas, Texas State University, and others. For academic credits, it usually depends on the relevance of the coursework to the program you are intending to study at the four-year institution.

However, every university has its own specific guidelines and policies about transferring college hours, and some courses may not be transferable if they don't align with an equivalent course or requirement at the four-year institution. It's therefore best to reach out to the advisors at your prospective transfer colleges to understand their specific criteria.

You can also make use of the website called Texas Common Course Numbering System (TCCNS), which is a voluntary, co-operative effort among Texas community colleges and universities to facilitate transfer of freshman and sophomore level general academic coursework.

Lastly, I highly suggest that you take a look at the Texas Core Curriculum, which is a 42 semester credit hour (SCH) core curriculum at all public institutions of higher education in Texas. Credits completed as part of the core at any public institution of higher education in Texas are guaranteed to be transferable to any other public institution in the state. Hope this helps!
