Understanding NC community college transfer equivalencies to ECU

I'm considering transferring to ECU from a community college in North Carolina. Can someone explain how transfer equivalencies work? I'm trying to figure out which of my credits will transfer smoothly and count towards my degree at ECU.

When transferring from a community college to a four-year university, transfer equivalencies are critical. They designate how the units or credits for courses you've taken at your community college will count toward your degree requirements at the university to which you're transferring—in your case, East Carolina University (ECU).
