General transfer plans from Northwest Vista College to a 4-year university?

I'm planning my post-high school path and looking into starting at Northwest Vista College, and then transferring. What are the general transfer plans available? Are there specific universities that partner closely with NVC for easier transitions?

Northwest Vista College certainly provides a solid foundation for a smooth transfer to a four-year university. It has a number of pre-planned degree pathway options, known as transfer advising guides or TAGs for several majors, including liberal arts, business, education, and STEM fields. TAGs essentially outline the recommended course sequence for your chosen field of study to prepare you for transferring to a 4-year university.

When it comes to partnerships, NVC has direct transfer agreements or articulation agreements with several universities. These agreements are partnerships that create a seamless transition by outlining which NVC credits will be accepted directly by that university, therefore reducing any guesswork or uncertainty.

In Texas, NVC has strong transfer pathways with many public and private universities. Examples include (but are certainly not limited to) the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) and Texas State University.

Regardless of the school, proper course selection is key for a successful transfer. Be sure to connect with both your NVC academic advisor and a transfer advisor at your target four-year school to discuss your academic goals and create a suitable plan. This conversation can also help ensure courses you're taking will count towards degree requirements at your future university. Lastly, keep in mind that each university has its own deadline for transfer admission and submission of transfer credits, so you'll want to make sure you have those dates handy.
