What's the minimum GPA for transferring to Oberlin College?

I'm preparing to apply to Oberlin College as a transfer student and I want to know what GPA I should aim for. Is there a minimum GPA requirement, or is it more about having a competitive application overall?

In terms of a hard and fast minimum GPA for transfer applicants, Oberlin College does not publicly state one. However, Oberlin is a selective school and therefore it's best to have a strong academic record.

While a higher GPA obviously makes you a stronger candidate, remember that Oberlin, like many colleges, takes a holistic approach to their transfer admissions. Alongside your GPA, they consider other factors such as your course rigor, college essays, extracurricular activities, recommendations, and demonstrated interest.

In the most recent data, the average GPA of the admitted transfer student was around 3.3-3.7, according to Oberlin's website. However, this does not mean applicants with a lower GPA will be automatically disqualified; every application is assessed individually.

Bottom line, strive for the highest GPA possible but also ensure that the other aspects of your application show a well-rounded and engaging profile.
