Transferring to SDSU with Palomar's AS-T in Administration of Justice

I'm enrolled in the AS-T Administration of Justice program at Palomar College and would like to transfer to SDSU. Anyone have experience with this pathway? Is there anything specific I should know to prepare for a transfer?

It's fantastic that you're considering a transfer to San Diego State University (SDSU) to further your studies in the Administration of Justice! SDSU is a part of the California State University (CSU) system and does have articulation agreements with California community colleges like Palomar, making the transfer process clearer.

A crucial piece of advice is to familiarize yourself with the Academic Requirements Report (ARR) provided by SDSU. This report lays out all the requirement buckets you'll need to fill to complete your degree at SDSU. You should ensure that the credits from your AS-T program align with these requirements as much as possible.

Another important thing to keep in mind is SDSU's "Golden Four" requirement for transfer students. This refers to a completed course in written communication, oral communication, critical thinking, and mathematics/quantitative reasoning with a grade of 'C-' or better. You might have already completed these in your AS-T program, but fill out any that you haven't before transferring.

Remember, SDSU, like all CSU schools, is test-blind, meaning they do not consider SAT or ACT scores. They will, however, take into account your college GPA, so make sure it meets SDSU's minimum transfer GPA (2.0 for CA residents, or 2.4 for non-residents).

Finally, engage as much as possible with their transfer admissions resources. The Transfer Admission Planner (TAP) and Transfer Student Outreach Alliance (TSOA) at SDSU are great places to start. They offer resources such as peer mentoring, webinars, and workshops to help ease your transition and set you up for success.

Remember to stay proactive in your planning, communicate frequently with advisors from both Palomar and SDSU, and do your due diligence in terms of maintaining your academic record. Best of luck in your journey!
