Evaluating transfer credits at Pennsylvania College of Technology?

If I'm transferring to the Pennsylvania College of Technology, how will my existing credits be evaluated? Are there tools or resources they provide to help me understand their transfer equivalency?

The Pennsylvania College of Technology has a comprehensive system in place for evaluating transfer credits. When you apply for admission and your transcripts are sent over, the college will perform an official evaluation of your previous credits.

The results of this evaluation will be presented in a Transfer Credit Evaluation Report that shows what courses you have received credit for and how those credits apply to your intended program of study. This will be mailed to you after your acceptance and will accompany your acceptance package.

For a preliminary understanding, Penn College also maintains an online Transfer Course Equivalency tool. This interactive tool allows you to choose your previous institution and see how specific courses from that institution will transfer over to Penn College. While it can provide a general idea of how your credits may transfer, it may not include all courses or institutions, and it doesn’t guarantee that your credits will be accepted.

It’s also common for the college to require a detailed syllabus of the course in question if it's not already in their database. This allows the college to decide whether the course content is equivalent to a course offered at Penn College.

Remember, it's important to consult with your academic advisor or the transfer admissions office for specific information about how your credits will transfer, as individual circumstances can vary. Your advisor can work with you to assist in the transfer process and ensure that you’re maximizing your previously earned credits.
