Understanding Pitzer College's policy on transfer GPA requirements

Does anyone know what GPA is required for transfer students wanting to apply to Pitzer College? I'm trying to assess if I'm a competitive candidate and need some direction for my application process.

While Pitzer College doesn’t explicitly state a minimum required GPA for transfer students, you’ll want to aim for a GPA of at least 3.5 to be competitive, as Pitzer College is a highly selective school. Keep in mind that a strong GPA doesn’t guarantee admission, as the college will look at other aspects of your application, such as your essays, letters of recommendation, and your reasons for wanting to transfer, in addition to your academic record.

However, Pitzer is known for embracing a holistic review process, so if a lower GPA is due to extenuating circumstances, such as a demanding job to support your family or overcoming personal adversity, it can be helpful to explain these circumstances briefly in your essays or have a recommender address them.

Remember to also fully research potential majors at Pitzer and talk about why one of those programs is a good fit for your future goals. Moreover, given Pitzer College's commitment to social justice, environmental sensitivity, intercultural understanding, and interdisciplinary learning, displaying alignment with these values can be an asset in your application. For example, perhaps you could talk about your involvement in community service or environmental initiatives at your current institution or in your personal life.
