Community college transfer credits to Purdue University

I've been attending a community college and I'm considering transferring to Purdue. Does anyone know how community college credits transfer and if there's a maximum they accept?

Purdue University generally accepts transfer credits from regionally accredited two and four-year institutions. The Office of Admissions at Purdue has a Credit Transfer Service that can help you determine how your community college credits could potentially transfer. They look at the quality of the course, the course equivalency, and the grade you received in the course.

Generally, transfer credits are granted for courses taken at colleges or universities that are accredited by one of the six regional accrediting agencies provided you have achieved a grade of C- or higher. Courses taken at an institution that is not regionally accredited are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Keep in mind that while a course may transfer as credit, not all courses might fulfill subject-specific requirements for your chosen major at Purdue. It's always a good idea to cross-reference your courses with the major requirements for your intended program at Purdue.

There is no strict limit on how many credits Purdue will accept from a community college, but, to earn a degree from Purdue, you must complete at least 32 credits of upper-division coursework at Purdue. Additionally, fifty percent of the credits required for a Purdue degree must be earned at Purdue University and the last 32 credits presented for a degree must be Purdue credits. High school dual-credit courses are counted in these numbers but AP/IB credits are not.

Despite this, it's always recommended to reach out to the admissions office directly for the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding transfer credits and policies.
