Understanding Queens College's transfer policy

Does anyone have experience with Queens College's transfer policy? I'm trying to figure out specifically what their requirements are for students transferring from another college. Are there any particular GPA benchmarks I should be aware of?

Queens College, part of the City University of New York (CUNY) system, has a comprehensive transfer policy. The college welcomes applications from students who wish to transfer from two-year and four-year institutions.

As for the GPA benchmarks, while the specifics may vary depending upon your earlier institution's credit and grading system, Queens College typically looks for a minimum GPA of around 2.0 from previous college course work. However, with increased competitiveness and if you're pursuing specific programs with stricter admission requirements, having a higher GPA can strengthen your application significantly.

Additionally, Queens College evaluates credits from accredited institutions. Accepted transfer credit grades must be at least a C or better, or equivalent. It's worth noting that the grades of transferred credits will not be calculated into your GPA at Queens College, but they do count towards your degree and can satisfy prerequisite and/or graduation requirements.

In terms of academic credits, Queens College may accept up to 75 credits from two-year colleges and up to 90 from four-year institutions. It's also useful to note that Queens College is a part of the CUNY system which has a CUNY-wide common core. If you’re transferring within CUNY and already finished your core at your previous college, you won’t have to redo it at Queens College.
