What are the transfer requirements for The City College of New York?

I'm planning to transfer to CCNY and need to understand the specific requirements. Are there certain prerequisites, application materials, or deadlines I should look out for to ensure a smooth transfer process?

The City College of New York (CCNY) has its own undergrad transfer process. Below, I've given you a brief rundown of what you'll need to apply:

1. Completed Application: Make sure you've completed the CUNY Application on the CUNY Application portal and specified CCNY.

2. Application Fee: There's a mandatory $70 non-refundable application fee.

3. Transcripts: As a transfer applicant, you would need to provide official transcripts from any and all institutions you've attended, whether you've received college credit from them or not. This includes any college courses you may have taken while in high school.

4. Additional Documents: Depending on your circumstances, you may need to submit additional documents, such as an official final high school transcript, GED, or TASC test results if you possess fewer than 24 college credits.

5. Immunization Records: CUNY requires all students to display evidence of immunization against measles, mumps, and rubella, as well as a meningitis response form.

The Fall application process generally starts around February 1, with a priority deadline of February 1 for any financial aid forms. The Spring application generally becomes available after September 15, and the priority financial aid deadline for spring semester is generally September 15 as well.

Make sure to maintain a strong academic standing at your current institution as CCNY will be looking at your college GPA as a part of your application review. The institution doesn't officially state a minimum GPA requirement for transfers, but a competitive transfer applicant usually has a GPA of around 2.5 or above.

I hope this helps you on your journey, and best of luck with the transfer process!
