Reporting AP Scores When Applying for College Transfer

Do I need to send my AP scores again if I'm applying as a transfer student to a new college? I scored well in high school and want to make sure these are considered during my transfer application process. Any insights?

When you're applying to transfer colleges, whether or not you need to send AP scores largely depends on the specifics of the institution's policies. It's not unheard of for colleges to request official AP score reports even from transfer students, particularly if those scores could lead to college credit or indicate your academic achievement.

However, in some cases, if AP scores were submitted to your current institution and are listed on your college transcript, the school you're applying to might consider that sufficient without requiring an official College Board report. In fact, there are still some schools that may not require them at all, especially if you've already earned a substantial amount of college credit.

My advice would be to check specifically with the schools you're applying to transfer to in order to understand their specific policies. Each school may handle this a bit differently based on their admissions procedures. Be sure to get in touch with their transfer admissions office directly for the most accurate information. For example, you should ask them if the AP scores need to be sent directly from the College Board or whether they can be reported through your current institution's transcript.
