Transferring credits to Cambridge College: what to expect?

I’m thinking about making a move to Cambridge College and I'm unsure about their credit transfer policy. Can anyone share what their experience was like and what kind of credits they accepted?

Cambridge College has a very student-centric approach when it comes to credit transfer. They tend to accept many types of credit sources, which includes traditional credit from other accredited colleges and universities, credits from professional training, and even life experience credits.

When transferring credits from another school, make sure the institution you are transferring from is an accredited institution, as this is generally a requirement for most colleges, including Cambridge College. Additionally, the credits must be for courses closely aligned to the curriculum at Cambridge College, and importantly, the grades you obtained must be high enough to meet transfer requirements, usually a C or better.

For professional training credits, Cambridge College follows the American Council on Education (ACE) recommended guidelines, meaning that if you've completed a professional training program that is recognized by ACE, you may be able to get credits for it.

Life and work experience could also potentially earn you credits through their Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) program. This program enables students to demonstrate learning they’ve acquired outside of traditional academic settings for potential academic credit.

Remember, though, that even if you expect lots of transfer credit, every institution, including Cambridge College, will have a residency requirement. This is the minimum number of credits you must earn directly from the institution in order to qualify for a degree from that institution.

It's worth reaching out to the admissions office directly to discuss your specific situation. Make sure to have your official transcript from your current institution handy, and if you are hoping to transfer credits from professional training or life experience, be prepared to provide ample evidence of your learning.
