Hey everyone! I'm applying to Harvard and was wondering if all applicants get interviews, or is it just a select few?
Hello! Not all applicants to Harvard receive interviews. Harvard interviews are conducted by alumni volunteers, which means that the availability of interviews can vary depending on your location. If there is an alumni volunteer available in your area, Harvard will attempt to arrange an interview for you. Keep in mind that Harvard makes it clear that the absence of an interview does not negatively impact your application, and admissions officers use other components of your application to learn more about you as a candidate.
For those who do obtain interviews, they typically take place in mid November for Early Action applicants, and in late January or early February for Regular Decision applicants. While you definitely want to accept if you are offered one, and prepare well, you also shouldn't worry if you aren't - many applicants have been admitted without having an interview!
Good luck with your application!
