What are TAMU junior college transfer equivalencies?

As I plan to transfer from a junior college to TAMU, I'm trying to figure out which of my taken courses can be credited. Does TAMU provide a list of transfer equivalencies for junior college courses?

Sure, Texas A&M University (TAMU) has a Transfer Course Equivalency database where you can check which courses at your junior college have already been evaluated by TAMU for transfer equivalency. This database includes courses from many institutions, both domestic and international.

In this system, you can input the name of your current institution and see a list of courses they've previously evaluated, along with TAMU's designated equivalency. Remember, the system only shows previously reviewed courses, and typically includes those from junior colleges that send a number of transfer students to TAMU. If your specific courses are not listed, this doesn't mean these credits won't transfer—it merely means that TAMU hasn't evaluated that specific course yet.

Once you've been accepted to TAMU and submit your official transcript, any unlisted courses you've taken will be evaluated individually for transfer credit. If these courses are similar in content and level to courses offered at TAMU, they may be accepted even if they're not already in the database.

Please keep in mind that while a course may transfer, it may not necessarily fulfill specific degree requirements. Be sure to consult with an academic advisor in your intended program of study at TAMU to address this and make sure that the credits you are earning now will contribute to your intended degree at TAMU. An advisor can give guidance and verify if the transferred credits count towards general education requirements, elective credits, or specific course requirements within your major.
