Transfer Credits to Providence College

I'm thinking about transferring to Providence College. Does anyone know how they handle transfer credits from other schools? Any tips would be appreciated!

Providence College generally accepts most college-level credits from accredited institutions, as long as the grade is a 'C' or above. However, certain departments might have stricter requirements for credits to apply to specific majors.

Before you adjust your course load at your current school, it could be worth your while to contact the Admission Department at Providence College directly. They can put you in touch with the Registrar’s Office or department faculties who can provide guidance based on your intended major. You'll want to provide them with course descriptions or syllabuses, which they might need to evaluate course equivalency.

Moreover, once you have transferred, an official evaluation of the qualifying transfer credits will be performed, allowing you to see which specific requirements they fulfill.

Bearing in mind, however, that while a lot of courses can be transferred for credit, the overall number of credits you can transfer might be capped. Also, meeting the requirements of your intended major and graduating on time might require careful planning, especially if you're transferring after your freshman year.

You also want to check Providence College's residency requirement because most, if not all, universities require students to complete a certain number of credits directly through them before they grant a degree. At Providence College, students must complete at least 60 credit hours on campus to be eligible for a degree.

Given these circumstances, I recommend reaching out directly to Providence College's Admission Department for the most accurate and personalized assistance. Keep good records or notes of these conversations for future reference, and good luck!
