What's the transfer rate like for California community colleges?

I'm currently at a community college in California and aiming to transfer to a UC or CSU. Does anyone have information on overall transfer rates for California community colleges?

The transfer rate from California community colleges to a UC or CSU is quite high largely due to programs like the Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT) which guarantees admission to a CSU, or Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) which provides guaranteed admission to one of six UC campuses for students meeting certain requirements.

On average, about 51% of CSU and 29% of UC graduates started at a California community college. The transfer rate to non-public institutions in California and out-of-state schools also exists but is somewhat lower.

Keep in mind that transfer acceptance rates can vary widely between individual campuses and majors. UC Berkeley and UCLA, for example, can be quite selective, even for transfer students, whereas others might have higher acceptance rates. It's also worth noting that some majors, like engineering or the arts, might have additional application requirements.

Don't forget to utilize the resources your community college offers, like academic counseling and transfer centers, to help guide you through the transfer process. These can be instrumental in making sure you meet all the requirements and deadlines. Much success on your academic journey!
