NYU Likely Letters?

I've been hearing some talk about other schools sending out likely letters and was curious, does NYU send likely letters to applicants? I applied to the school and was wondering if I should keep an eye out for one.

NYU does indeed send likely letters, but they are quite rare and typically sent to a small number of outstanding applicants. A likely letter is an unofficial notification sent by the University admissions office to inform top applicants that they are almost certainly going to be admitted based on their exceptional application. This communication usually comes before official acceptance letters are sent out, which is typically in late March or early April.

It's important to note, however, that not receiving a likely letter doesn't mean you won't be accepted. The vast majority of admitted students do not receive likely letters, so it's crucial not to be discouraged if you don't receive one. Instead, continue to focus on your plans, celebrate the work you put into your application, and be patient for the official decisions to be released. Good luck!
