MIT interviewer & application info

Hey guys! I have an upcoming MIT interview, and I'm wondering if our interviewers see our full application beforehand? Kinda nervous, would love to be prepared. Thanks!

Hey! Your nervousness is completely understandable, but don't worry too much! MIT interviewers do not have access to your full application. Before the interview, they typically receive some basic information about you (like your name, contact info, and the high school you attend), but they don't see your grades, test scores, or essays.

The interview is designed to be a conversation where the interviewer gets to know you better, explore your interests, and understand your experiences beyond the application. To prepare, you should be ready to discuss your extracurricular activities, your passion for MIT and its programs, and any special circumstances or challenges you've faced. You may also want to come up with a few questions to ask your interviewer about their experiences at MIT or any advice they may have.

Remember to be genuine and show enthusiasm for your interests. The interview is an opportunity for you to give a personal touch to your application and demonstrate qualities that may not come through in your written materials. Good luck, and I hope you enjoy your interview!
