Should I include my AP scores in the Common App?

Hi guys! So I'm working on my college applications and debating whether or not to include my AP scores in the Common App. What do you think? Is it necessary? Would it hurt my application if I don't include them? Please let me know, and thanks for the help!

Hi! Deciding whether to include your AP scores in your Common App depends on how well you've performed on the exams. Generally, if you have scored a 4 or 5 on your AP exams, it's a good idea to include them, as they showcase your academic strengths and mastery of the subject matter.

On the other hand, if your AP scores are below a 4, you might consider leaving them out, as they may not positively contribute to your application. AP scores usually don't hold as much weight in the admissions process as your course selection, grades, and overall academic rigor. Admissions officers focus on your performance throughout the entire course, not just your exam score.

Not including your AP scores shouldn't hurt your application, as colleges understand that students have various reasons for not submitting their scores, such as financial constraints or the availability of exams during the pandemic. In summary, if you have strong AP scores, it's beneficial to include them, but it won't significantly hurt your application if you choose not to. Good luck with your college applications!
