How did you guys find your major?

Hey fellow students! I've been struggling with deciding what major I want to choose in college. I don't want to make a decision I'll regret later on. Can anyone share their experience on how they found their major and how they're liking it?

Hi there! Choosing a major can be challenging, but don't worry—many students go through the same experience. For me, the process started by reflecting on my interests, passions, and strengths. I made a list of subjects I enjoyed in high school and activities that I felt passionate about. This helped me identify a few fields that I could potentially major in.

Next, I did some research on each of the potential majors, learning about the types of courses offered, possible career paths, and future job prospects. I also reached out to students already enrolled in the desired majors to get first-hand insights about their experiences. This helped me further narrow down my options.

To get a better understanding of a specific major, consider taking an introductory course or attend a guest lecture on the subject if that's available. Additionally, you might look into internship, job shadowing, or volunteering opportunities related to the field to get some practical experience and see if it's something you'd enjoy doing long-term.

In the end, I found a major that aligned with my interests and strengths, and I really enjoy the coursework and potential career opportunities. Remember that it's okay to change your major if you discover it's not the right fit for you. Many students switch majors during their college journey, and it's better to make the change when you realize it's not the right path than to stick with something that doesn't make you happy.

Good luck with your decision-making process, and I hope you find a major that excites and challenges you!
