Law undergraduate programs - which ones are great?

Hi everyone! I'm currently a junior who's super passionate about law. I'm starting to look at colleges, and I wanted to know which schools have great undergraduate law programs. Any suggestions or advice would be awesome!

Hey there! It's fantastic that you're passionate about law and are planning ahead for college. While there aren't many undergraduate law programs in the United States, there are a few, and many students looking to go into law tend to pursue Bachelor's degrees in related fields like political science, criminal justice, or legal studies.

That being said, some schools do have undergraduate law programs or law-focused tracks:

1. University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) - UPenn offers the Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) major, which provides students with a strong foundation for law school and legal careers. They also offer a minor in Law and Society.

2. Cornell University - Cornell's College of Arts and Sciences has a Law and Society minor that focuses on socio-legal issues and perspectives. Not to mention, their School of Industrial and Labor Relations (ILR) is a popular choice for pre-law students.

3. Washington and Lee University - Washington and Lee offers a unique interdisciplinary Law, Justice, and Society program that can be taken as a minor while you major in another related field.

4. University of Southern California (USC) - USC offers a political science major with a law and public policy track, which caters to students who plan to attend law school. They also have a minor in Law and Society.

5. Boston College - Boston College's political science department has a Legal Studies track, which focuses on law in a social context, suitable for students planning to go to law school.

Remember that when selecting a college or program, you should consider not only its academic offerings but also the school culture, location, and overall fit. It's worth visiting the schools that interest you, if possible, and speaking with current students or attending classes to gauge how well a program or school meets your needs and goals.

Additionally, keep in mind that excel in your chosen major and obtaining strong letters of recommendation from professors in relevant disciplines are crucial for law school admission. Joining pre-law organizations or engaging in extracurriculars related to law and social justice can also demonstrate your passion and commitment to the field.

Best of luck in your search and future endeavors!
