Summer programs for 17-year-olds?

What's up everybody? I'm going to turn 17 this summer and I'm trying to find a program or opportunity that caters to my age group. Are there any summer programs you know of specifically for 17-year-olds like me? Thanks in advance!

Hi there! It's exciting that you're looking to make the most of your summer. There are plenty of summer programs for high school students in general, many of which cater to a range of ages, including 17-year-olds like yourself. Instead of focusing on programs exclusively for 17-year-olds, I'd recommend looking at programs that suit your interests and goals.

If you're interested in academics, there are a variety of pre-college programs hosted by universities that provide a taste of college life and a chance to explore subjects in depth. Some examples include the Stanford Summer Session, Yale Young Global Scholars, and Brown Pre-College Programs.

For those with specific interests, specialty summer camps might be a great choice. These can range from coding bootcamps (like iD Tech), writing workshops (like the Iowa Young Writers' Studio), or even film academies (New York Film Academy's Summer Camps).

If you're looking to build your leadership skills or give back to your community, you could consider service-oriented programs such as volunteering with your local YMCA or participating in Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA).

Make sure to research the costs, application deadlines, and eligibility requirements of any programs you're interested in. Some programs might be selective and require an application, while others are more loosely structured. Remember, the key is to find a program that aligns with your interests and helps you grow personally and academically.

Good luck, and I hope you have an amazing summer!
